Diana Princess of Wales

Lady Diana, princess of Wales. Good points, bad points.?

I'm Italian. I really appreciate the special human being that Lady D was. I'm fond of her because of her humanity, grace and her personal history and background. I would really like to know from you British what are in your opinion some good and bad points about her. Excuse any grammar mistake! ;) Thanks a lot for your prompt answer!

  1. Yes I agree with you but because of her troubled married she looked for love in the wrong places which made her more of a lost soul .
  2. she was an attention seeking freak who could have had it all but chose to stir up a hornet's nest and ended up dead for it. she should have put up and shut up as many many generations before her had and she also knew all about Camilla before the marriage to Charles. You make your bed and you lie in it. She had her lovers so what was so different for Charles to have Camilla. Personally I don't believe she was the saint she painted herself to be.
  3. Diana, Princess of Wales had a heart of gold and often went out during the night to visit the sick and homeless. She fronted the land mines campaign. She loved children and did a lot for various charities. She had flaws, like all humans, but I don't believe in talking about the dead in a disrespectful manner and prefer to remember the good that she did.
  4. never lost her dignity or beauty
  5. she definitely had a generous soul all her charity work spoke for itself but i think she knew very well how to manipulate the press i don't think it was fair, after her death especially how the royal family came off, they aren't perfect but then neither was she.
  6. I agree with Jane P. I think she was an embarrassment and disgrace to the monarchy; she was childish and acted like a spoiled brat. Those faces she made in public still revolt me, and I'm an American. Her 'charity' work was organized and financed by the Palace; she was doing a job and found a slot that she could fill adequately. If Charles and the Queen did not want Diana to visit those hospitals, she would have had that much more time to romp around with her buddy Fergie and generally cause havoc. And finally, she'd probably be alive today if she and her lover weren't so arrogant and determined that no one should look in their car window as they were going from one love nest to another; and if they had been wearing their seat belts. EITHER one of them could have told the driver to slow down, but both were too caught up in their own importance. The good things: she produced two heirs. Or at least one heir and an error.
  7. Also agree with Jane P.She was a trouble maker who thought she was better than the Queen .Good points her sons.
  8. Her good points?Well, she did lots to make people people more aware of AIDS and dispel some of the myths about the disease. Her bad points,I am sure that she had some but,why sling mud at someone who can't brush it off?
  9. Bad points-Bimbo, publicity seeking slapper. Good points-Dead
  10. Sorry, I can't think of a single good point that the poor mentally disturbed woman had
  11. I agree with Old Mister Happy. Diana loved publicity and use it in her favor, while all of her charity was just job she HAD to do. She was far from a Cinderella ( she was more rich than Charles and from a much older family)
  12. Good points - She campaigned against land mines and she showed up the royals for what they are. Bad points - She hired a drunken chauffeur.
  13. Scheming Blonde with a good P.R. machine.
  14. She made a huge mistake in marrying Charles. He made it obvious from the start that he considered her to be no more than a brood mare. A man that spends the night before his marriage in the bed of a married woman whom he later marries is not the sort of man anyone should marry. However, she has to share the blame since no-one forced her to marry him &, after her divorce, she did seem to go out of her way to embarrass both him & his family by flaunting her lifestyle.
  15. She had many good points but also many bad points eg having an affair whilst married.
  16. Well, Lady D was once human, like all human, we all make mistakes. Who are we to judge whether is she good or bad or what are they good or bad points she has? Does that matters at the end of the day? I guess she lives forever in everyone's heart - those who know or hear of her. Cheers :)
  17. lady d was a princess good point bad point she was a lady first
  18. Good points : She was a warm, friendly person, unlike the rest of the royals bad points : she married into a dysfunctional family with no concept of what life is really like
  19. She helped change the attitude many, if not the majority had towards people with AIDS. She visited them in hospital, touched and cuddled them at a time when their was much hysteria and misinformation about the disease. At the time many people, even some who worked in medical jobs, believed that just touching anyone suffering from the disease put them at risk of catching it. Her campaigning against land mines was also one which changed many minds and eventually the law. She came from a broken home, abandoned by her mother as a young child and married a man who did not love her. It is no surprise then that she had problems which manifested them self in her eating disorder. She coped with this and was able to care deeply about others and was obviously a great mother. She had faults and made mistakes but which of us has not. I doubt if any of those who post negative comments here have done a tenth of the good she did.
