What is the '77 Lady Diana reference in The Muppet Show if she was not dating Prince Charles as of yet?

During Season 2 of the Muppet Show, there is a joke reference to Lady Diana. At this time, she had not started dating Prince Charles as of yet. This was 1977...why would there be a Lady Diana joke in the first episode when she was just 15 and not on the radar yet to be Princess? Diana Rigg was not made a Dame... and "Lady" is left for royalty at the Princess or Princess Consort level.
