What did the royal family have against Princess Diana?

I was talking to my mum earlier and we saw something on 20 to 1 about Princess Diana and she mentioned to me that the royal family didn't like Princess Diana but neither of us know why. Why didn't the royal family like her?

Public Comments

  1. Because she went outside of the "bloodline".The royal families interbreed to keep the crown and power within the bloodline/family. Diana was screwing aroud outside of the interbreeding bloodline and she was murdered. Also she was one of the most philothranpic people to have ever walked the face of the earth. Diana was one of the kindest human beings and she was ridiculously charitable.
  2. I don't think she was disliked, the problems of a divorce were pretty normal.
  3. She was as close to being a normal, compassionate and accessible human being that the royal family have ever had the disadvantage to bring into the royal household. That's why she appealed to the masses and she was more popular because of those very reasons than any of the other royals have ever been. They like to adhere to the hierarchy system that England holds in place and didn't like the fact that she was a lovely person and refused to change regardless of the way she was expected to be. They like to be held on a pedal stool and seen as Gods and Diana brought that image crumbling down and has shown us that they are mere human beings like the rest of us...her sons are now continuing her fine work!
  4. Because she went against the grain and aired her dirty laundry on TV.
  5. Earlier wives of the heir to the throne had put up with their husband's philanderings with dignity -- a notable example being the last Princess of Wales before her, Alexandra, wife of Edward VII. Diana was not prepared to do this and took revenge on her husband by committing adultery and publicly admitting the fact during a television interview and, eventually, divorcing him. After the divorce she led a rather wild life in the full public glare and was much criticised for her affair with Dodi Fayed. Following her death, people tended to forget how very much the press had pitched into her immediately before the incident.
  6. because she was named after Diana Ross and they don't like Black people. kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
  7. She was unhappy in her marriage to Charles, and talked about this in public, which was embarrassing for the royal family who believe in keeping quiet about such matters. They would probably have prefered her to be more discreet. Also, I think she probably didn't have a lot in common with most of them, since she was not fond of horses, dogs, country pursuits etc. And what with the bulimia etc they probably found her a bit of a trial.
  8. She was a borderline personality, master manipulator, compulsive cheater, and made them all look bad in the media. Of course they didn't like her.
  9. She was Charle's ex wife and she was playing the tabloid game, telling tales and doing interviews. That probably P'd them off a fair bit. I doubt they had anything to do with her death tho.
  10. She was popular without people having to be told she was. She had a natural charm that the royal family completely lack.
  11. She put her own personal happiness above the stability of the monarchy and her duty to uphold and protect it at all costs. She had a lousy husband, instead of keeping her mouth shut and acting like everything was peachy she complained 'loudly' to the media, which brought shame and scandal to the monarchy. Good woman; bad princess.
  12. Her behavior was morally deficient.
  13. They were upset because Diana chose to air the family's dirty laundry by helping Andrew Morton write Diana:Her True Story. They were upset with both Diana and Charles for taking their feud public, both granting interviews and helping authors write biographies.Royals never want too much light shown upon them,it lets the magic out,as George V once said.Royal pageantry and Royal duties are different and separate from private lives. The public pays for the pageantry, for the duties to charities, business and government, and not for tawdry private life.
  14. She wasn't disliked. Before she married into the royal family many checks were made to see that she was suitable. The top and bottom of it was that she couldn't take the responsibility of being married to the heir to the throne. The marriage was meant to provide heirs, which she did, although there is some doubt as to the parentage of one of them, also the marriage was meant to unite church of England and catholic factions, the Spencer family being high in the hierarchy of English catholics. After a while the strain began to tell and she developed mental problems leading to the divorce. After the divorce she became a loose cannon , her behaviour and morals were to say the least ,rather disconcerting. after all at the time of her death she was with one of her many illicit lovers. The royal family are not blameless in this, they could at least tried to be more understanding. They also have the taint of insanity in the family from the queen mother's side, there have been cases of lunacy in the Spencer family also.
  15. Because she cheated on her husband and future King dear girl. She should have counted herself lucky that she wasn't married to Henry VIII.
  16. Because....to quote a dear and beloved friend....she was a fibberty-gibbet. She knew full well the behavior expected of her.....had grown up around the Royal family. Her older sister had dated the Prince...and, one and all,, they patiently explained to her just what being married to Prince Charles was going to be. In order to marry the Prince of Wales...and become the future queen, she agreed readily to everything. Once she produced William....and thought her position was secure...she proceeded to abandon all pretense of living up to the agreements...issuing demands that everything about her situation change to suit her liking... This is not considered fair play anywhere...not even in the colonies... The entire world...and most especially, her poor children, were subjected to the spectacle of her power struggle against the Royal Family. It was unfair to the beloved Queen Elizabeth to do this....we all resented it for her..
